When I was a kid,

I wanted to be a writer. And when I grew up, I was! My former editors would be get out their red pens with me beginning a sentence with and.

In my early 20s, I worked at a newspaper in upstate New York. After plugging away, I realized that it wasn't a good fit for me. I was way more interested in hearing people’s stories than reporting them.

Then I got sick. A serious workplace injury left me in constant pain and unable to work for a number of years. My body made me stop, and I’m so grateful that it did.

Slowly I regained my health and started doing what I do now -- being of service to others in a deeper way.

I've been a psychotherapist for nearly 20 years. Not a day goes by that I'm not amazed by the capacity we human beings have for healing.

Do you have a podcast or website aimed at helping humans feel more at ease in their bodies, their lives, and on the planet?

I'd love to connect. I could talk for days and days about (among other things):

  • Gate Passages: How your life's twists, turns and forks in the road bring you closer to who you are.

  • The intersection of traditional psychotherapy and alternative healing.

  • Trauma's effects on the brain, body and soul.

  • Spiritual awakenings that masquerade as depression and anxiety.

  • Navigating life as a sensitive soul.

Here’s me + Jen Vertanen going there on her podcast.
