When I was a kid,
I wanted to be a writer. And when I grew up, I was! My former editors would be get out their red pens with me beginning a sentence with and.
In my early 20s, I worked at a newspaper in upstate New York. After plugging away, I realized that it wasn't a good fit for me. I was way more interested in hearing people’s stories than reporting them.
Then I got sick. A serious workplace injury left me in constant pain and unable to work for a number of years. My body made me stop, and I’m so grateful that it did.
Slowly I regained my health and started doing what I do now -- being of service to others in a deeper way.
I've been a psychotherapist for nearly 20 years. Not a day goes by that I'm not amazed by the capacity we human beings have for healing.
Do you have a podcast or website aimed at helping humans feel more at ease in their bodies, their lives, and on the planet?
I'd love to connect. I could talk for days and days about (among other things):
Gate Passages: How your life's twists, turns and forks in the road bring you closer to who you are.
The intersection of traditional psychotherapy and alternative healing.
Trauma's effects on the brain, body and soul.
Spiritual awakenings that masquerade as depression and anxiety.
Navigating life as a sensitive soul.
Here’s me + Jen Vertanen going there on her podcast.
