Craving creative friends …

I'm a slow processor.

It takes me awhile to fully take in an experience. Heck, I've been married for 5 years to the guy I've been with for 13, and I'm just starting to get use to it.

So it's no wonder that a month after I’m home from the World Domination Summit, some things have become clear.  Here's Part 1, if you missed it.

In between the male-oriented “kill the parts inside you don’t like” stuff at World Domination Summit , I saw a great film called Indie Kindred

It's a documentary by Brooklyn-based writer and storyteller, Jen Lee and chronicles 10 female independent artists and their forays into creative collaborations with other female artists.

Here’s the pretty trailer image:

What I loved about Indie Kindred is that it very much spoke to my longing at World Domination Summit for feminine ways of relating (not dominating or conquering). I remember the film ending and thinking "Finally! This is what I've been wanting here."

The film also spoke to my craving for creative friends.

I've been lucky to have a few in my life.

For example, I love to create meals with my mother in her kitchen.

I love making art with my friend Susanna.

There's something so powerful in discovering resonance with another person ... and using that shared resonance to play and create.

What about you? Do you crave creative cohorts? Have you found some?
