Welcome to the Sandbox
Earlier in my life ...
I toiled away at an office at jobs I hated.
It was draining ... like Superman crushed by kryptonite kind of draining.
I was pissed at having to work at shitty jobs and get dressed up everyday in pointy shoes and do stupid things that I didn't give a crap about.
If that wasn't enough, I passed along the pissed feeling to everyone I worked with. Good lord, I was such a bitch. I figured that if they were doing the same crappy jobs and happy about it, then they must be idiots.
So whenever there was a conflict with any of them, I projected with a vengeance, as in “they are the problem and not me.”
Jump ahead 30 years. I've learned a few things. Here's one of them:
Work isn't work.
On one level, it is. You go to a place and exchange your time and energy doing things for money.
But underneath, it's way more than that.
It’s a spiritual undertaking. The situations you are in and the people you work with are there by design. It’s all about learning. At the same time, you are there to help others learn. It’s like one ginormous reciprocal classroom. Welcome to the sandbox.
You are the teacher.
You are the learner.
If you notice something in your body as you read this, then you're in the right place.
